Sri Lanka Appoints Aaqib Javed as Fast Bowling Coach for T20 World Cup

Sri Lanka Cricket appointed former Pakistan fast bowler Aaqib Javed as their new fast bowling coach.

Javed will work with the team until the end of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in June 2024.

He is a World Cup winner, having been part of Pakistan's victorious 1992 campaign.

Javed has extensive coaching experience, working with national teams like Pakistan, UAE, and Afghanistan.

He guided Pakistan U19s to the 2004 World Cup title and was Pakistan's bowling coach during their 2009 T20 World Cup win.

Javed played a key role in helping UAE gain ODI and T20I status and reach the 2015 Cricket World Cup.

The appointment is expected to benefit Sri Lanka's bowlers in the upcoming major tournaments.
