Saudi Arabia Fight Card Unveiled: Whittaker vs. Chimaev Headlines!

This summer, the UFC will make its debut in Saudi Arabia, and a big middleweight star will be joining it.

On June 22, UFC CEO Dana White said that former champion Robert Whittaker will square off against Khamzat Chimaev in a five-round main event.

White also said that the main card will air on ABC and that the winner of the fight will get a shot at the gold championship.

The bill also features fights between Alexander Volkov and Sergei Pavlovich, Daniel Rodriguez and Kelvin Gastelum, Volkan Oezdemir and Johnny Walker, and Shara Magomedov and Ihor Potieria.

As ranked fourth in the most recent USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie middleweight rankings, Whittaker (25-7 MMA, 16-5 UFC) hopes to build on his victory over Paulo Costa via unanimous decision in February.

After losing to Dricus Du Plessis, he rebounded back into the win column with his second victory in three fights.
